Subject: Looking for an animated/live action movie I saw in the '80s....

I saw this movie around 1985, it involves two kids and they chase this animal into the forest after it's stolen money, all the animals they interact with are animated, so it's a mix of live action (kids, forest, etc) and animation (animals). One thing that stands out, is the scene on the river, as there are a tonne of logs, and a chase goes on near or on them, the logs are laid out almost like circular platforms.
