In honor of the film, Hot Tub Time Machine, what is your  favorite John Cusack film from the 1980's?

???

Oddly enough, though I've seen bits and pieces of certain films, the only 80s flick in which Cusack is in that I saw the whole thing was 'Stand By Me' and I still love it.  His role was brief in it though

I like Better Off Dead and Say Anything, however the earlier John Cusack film, I saw was the vastly underrated Journey of Natty Gann.

Pork burgers dancing to Van Halen clinches it for me!

Though, Whistledog's mention of "Stand By Me" comes in second because Dennis was such a doting older brother, and the dad is such a cold prick.  Cusack really made his few lines in flashback affect the whole rest of the movie!

"The Journey of Natty Gann".  It was the first movie I saw with him in it, and I've been in love ever since. :D

The first time I saw him he was in "Sixteen Candles."  He plays one of Farmer Ted's friends.  The less goofy looking kid.

Being a fan of most baseball films, my vote goes to "Eight Men Out".

Kinda surprised "The Sure Thing" hadn't been mentioned.  I think that was his first lead role.  One of those 80's college oriented films with of course the stereotypical characters.  I think too that was Nicolette Sheridan's film debut as she played "The Sure Thing".

I went for the film 'Class' but I think that was more for Jacqueline Bisset than John Cusack, lol.

Better Off Dead is a classic, so many quotable lines.

Did you know that the owner of the pork burger restaurant is also Porky from the Porky's movies?

God they made some great comedies back in the 80's.  :D
