Teddy Ruxpin, the Furby, and Microsoft Actimates Barney have been hacked.

I'm sure there are more, but those were the big three in the circuitbending/hacking community.  Teddy because he was the first and most easily-accessed, Furbies because they were practically designed for it, and Barney because... well, just because.

The 2XL!

Funny story about this one: My birthday is in the fall and when I was seven or eight I found the 2XL in my parent's closet around September. I thought I'd get it for my Birthday naturally. My Birthday came and went and no 2XL ever showed up. Flash-forward to Christmas, and what should be under the tree? A 2XL! This is how I figured out that my parents were actually Santa, lol.

B.T.W.

I got the 2XL with this cool Batman tape, kind of a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure deal. It was SWEET!

Karma for reminding me of competitor Tomy's line of cassette-controlled robots: the Omnibots series...

I miss Teddy Ruxpin.

The only 2 that I can think of from the 80s is Teddy Ruxpin and Cricket.  I miss those two.  I never had Teddy Ruxpin when I was a kid.

I had one and the talking bear was kind of creepy at first.

Big Bird Story Magic

I had a talking Big Bird cassette player when I was very little and at the time Big Bird seemed very real just like the show. It cost $67.99 when it came out in 1986. They were basically advanced versions of the Book and Tape storybooks. But you needed batteries as well!http://www.netneon.com/netneon.nsf/0/5C182D87B555AD3E882574C8000562D9/$file/b.bird.jpg?openelement

Yes it did. Carol Spinney's voice was used on the cassette recording and the sound projected from a speaker inside, and everytime some mechanism detected that sound, the beak moved up and down. As I'm checking eBay, 19 story tapes were released. There was also a Cookie Monster version as well.

Cookie Montster is a hookup toy, he doesn't have his own cassette player.
