Subject: The 1980's song DIRTY LAUNDRY

Written By: Robert on 02/09/11 at 3:14 pm

 :)
I used to live in S. Calif most of my life and knew 2 guitarist. I had a friend in Buena Park from 1960's to 1980's who played guitar and he met another guitarist who came over to play.  My neighbor's name was Bruce and the guitarists who created the instrumental was name Chuck Flanagan. Chuck Sort of resembled the Hagard Twins on the ole show "Hee Haw". A large horse mouth skinny ass dude,.  He had a guitar instrumental that blew me  and others away. It starts with a metal slide on his finger and he had a phaser, wah and echo box...  Iknew this guy for almost 8 years. he in turn took Bruce and i over to Burbank Calif to see him jam with Randy Rhoads several times...This is before Ozzy discovered him.

I lived in Buena Park, Calif most of my life from 1960-1988. My one older brother Ron and the neighbor across the street Bruce went to a church were they met some NEW friends. One guy is a hot shot guitarists name Chuck Flanagan. We knew this guy from 1970 to 1979. He and my neighbor got together to jam. I would be outside cutting the grass and hear really LOUD guitar playing. I go across the street and into the backyard in the garage and there be over a dozen people in there watching this amazing guitar player. He made a few homemade electric guitars from scratch which i wanted to purchase from him, but had no money at the time. I met this Chuck many times.. the last few times i saw him at my neighbors house was in early 1980. He had a instrumental piece that starts with a metal slide on his one finger. He has a homemade Les Paul  a Marshall amp and wah pedal and phaser and a old box cassette echo plex machine. Chuck says that Don Henley is auditioning blues guitarists in San Diego and Chuck said he is going to audition for him.  Right around 1982, my neighbor Bruce said he came across Chuck in public and told me Chuck has a NEW automobile with the money he made from his original composition.

I read in the webpage, people asking "who is the guy that played the guitar composition in the song Dirty Composition"? Well this is the guy. His name is Chuck Flanagan.  I myself saw the Eagles on t.v. perform the song but noticed they couldn't play the last half of the lead guitar cause it IS very complex. Only Chuck knows it. HE's fast and very good amazing guitarist.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHEVROLET SMALL-BLOCK V-8.

Chevrolet's small-block V8 is a famous automobile engine. Nicknamed "mouse motor" (opposed to the big block engine, nicknamed "rat") for its compact dimensions compared to other V8 engines of the time, production began in 1955 with the 265 engine. By 1957 it had grown to 283 cu in (4.6 L), and with the optional Rochester mechanical fuel injection, it became one of the first production engines ever to make one horsepower per cubic inch. This engine was used to power the Corvette, and the Bel Air at that time. It would later be extended to other vehicles as well, and replace the old style 265 V8s. The displacement changed over the years, eventually reaching 400 cu in (6.6 L), but none caught on like the 350 cu in (5.7 L) small-block. This engine is still in production today at General Motors Toluca, Mexico plant (primarily for the GM over-the-counter Goodwrench powerplants), but is no longer offered in current model year vehicles since the year 2004. Its production numbers were impressive, with more than 90,000,000 built. It has been produced in carbureted, mechanical fuel injection, and electronic fuel injection forms.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

(Thanks, Al.  ;) )
