It's actually back here (and almost gone, too).  It was a little more subtle of a statement this time around only appearing in shirts and paint splatter items!

Au contraire.  Atari put out the Atari Flashback console a few years ago that comes pre-loaded with several games and looks just like an old school Atari.  They were a big seller

Yeah you can get it on ebay for like $20. Just a simple google search for atari flashback 2 showed a load of results. It has also made me decide that I would like to buy one. Cheers for reminding me.
I would also like to see the big high top fade come back into style please.

there are two shops in town that sell lots of neon-coloured accesories such as leg warmers and tu-tu skirts.  and the theme for the next school disco is apparently 'neon'! so in some places it has come back again.

Ah true enough. I have one of each.
I guess I was thinking more about a console you could buy new games for as opposed to having a bunch of existing games pre-loaded, but you're right, there was even talk of a Flashback 3!

I remember using those in the late 80's! When I was in 3rd grade (1988-89) we used them, mainly for educational games. All the software programs came from floppy disks that were actually floppy! One such program was "Piece Of Cake Math."

The original 8" floppy was available commercially in 1971, though most of us didn't see one until the early '80s.

The old Apple IIgs's (first computer I ever used in 1993) we had in school used 5.25" floppies. My own first computer (Macintosh Quadra 610 from later in the same year) used 3 1/2" floppies and also had a CD-ROM drive.

Fred was the only guy that you could push his buttons and he actually did what you told him to do, instead of watching sports all day.

Back in the day I liked the electronic games but I don't recognize that Fred game.
I had a pocket Simon, and a Coleco Head-To-Head football, and some sort of Pac-Man rip off.
Isn't Mego the company that used to make those little dolls for boys?

The old Apple IIgs's (first computer I ever used in 1993) we had in school used 5.25" floppies.

I used Apple IIgs's in school around that time as well, and I think the floppies were that size too. But they were phased out pretty quickly after that.

I remember the Simon toy, you had to hit the colored buttons in the order that they light up, or something like that.
