Subject: Favorite eighties feel good inspirational pop songs

Written By: MaxwellSmart on 10/25/11 at 11:34 pm

Maybe they were your class songs, maybe they were your reationship songs, maybe they played them during aerobics, maybe at a church function, or even one of those motivational media presentation.  You know, these were the positive, uplifting songs, full of pure love and can-do spirit!

Here's one from 1982, popularized by the soundtrack to the hit film "An Officer and A Gentleman."  Climbed to number 7 on the U.S. Top 40 --

This one was quite obviously written with that in mind...legwarmers and sweatbands at the ready...

Neil Diamond - Headed For the Future.  As bad as that song was, it did have a positive outlook.  Neil tried heading for the new wave future, and that became his last ever US Hot 100 hit single.
