Did anyone here play with Where's Wally as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s?

I personally did not, but it seems Wally is still popular today.

Bah it's impossible to not try and look for him!  :D

In the UK it was "Wally". I think I'm slightly too old for him, but I do remember seeing his books from the 90s onwards.

I loved these books when I was younger. I think I was older than the target audience, but I still enjoyed finding Waldo in my younger brothers books!

From 2009: Google Street View: Wally found and other funny photos

http://i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article383577.ece/alternates/s615/image-5-for-you-ve-been-googled-gallery-767337104.jpg

Google yesterday challenged the nation to find the Where's Wally? character in his striped bobble hat amongst the millions of images on their new Street View map of Britain.

The hunt spread like wildfire through social media websites and by this morning someone on microblogging site Twitter had found him - the distinctive red and white striped jumper and jolly wave gave him away, but this time Wally’s outside the O2 shop on Putney High Street.

As well as snapping Wally, Google’s car-mounted cameras took photos of a real-life Mary Poppins, a sexy female Beefeater in Birmingham along with Top Gear’s Stig in the window of a BBC building.

But it’s not just celebrities and fictional characters having their privacy invaded by the 360-degree views of roads and homes which cover 25 cities in the UK.

Google has been forced to remove scores of photos after a number of complaints from people caught on, or caught out by the cameras.

One man was pictured leaving a Soho sex shop, whilst another was caught hunched over a pool of vomit outside a bar in East London.

A spokeswoman for Google couldn’t confirm the exact number of images removed, but said it had been "less than expected".

So what's the difference? Wally? Waldo? He's still the same person.

James has a Top Gear book where you have to find Stig, green Stig, a man in a suit and tie, and various other items
