OK so I don't have much to go on here so bear with me...

I was born in 1982 so the cartoon I'm thinking of was probably mid-1980's. I'm almost positive it was a movie, not a T.V. series. And it may have been on HBO but I'm not sure.

All I really remember from this cartoon was that it had talking animals, mostly cats I think. Near the end of the movie the animals had a foot race to settle some sort of dispute. I think there might have been rival groups/gangs of some kind, fighting over a territory or something, not sure.

The image in my mind though is this black and white cat racing some other cat. It was supposed to be a foot race and the black and white cat, maybe wearing a backwards blue baseball cap, was cheating by using a scooter. He was looking over a hedge at his opponent (the good guy) and sort of mocking him while cheating and on his way to victory...

I know it isn't much to go on. But if anyone can tell me the name of this movie I'll be stunned, amazed, and eternally grateful!!



As a side note, I'm also very fond of the movie Allison and the Magic Bubble - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1417578/. It is rather obscure, however, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere online to watch. If anyone can point me in the right direction on that one, I will also be eternally grateful.

I was thinking that same thing.  Top Cat was shown in reruns in the 80s, so to the average kid, it was a new show to them.
Heck, I thought that cartoon "The Mighty Hercules" was a new cartoon when I watched it in the early 80s.  Had no idea it was a 60s show lol

I remember that the Disney Channel used to run the Peter No-Tail movies all the time. That and The Raccoons. Not being a cat person ( I much preferred dog cartoons like Pound Puppies and Fluppy Dogs ) I'm surprised I still remember it. I guess it sort of sticks in your mind.
