I certainly remember Peter Shelley, but certainly never heard of this song by him before.

How early MTV was it?

Interesting song. I only knew his name in association with the early 70's song "Gee Baby".  You certainly can tell that this one was written in the electronic, synth 80's.

I know that song, but not from back in the day.  I searched it out once the Internet became a thing and I learned it existed. 

As lead singer for The Buzzcocks, Pete Shelley had no hits in North America, but when he went solo, his song Homosapien became a major hit in Canada, peaking at #6.  It was a song I loved, and within the music video, the first time I ever saw a Commodore PET computer.

I don't remember that at all, but it's a fun song!  It fairly screams the early 1980's  :D
