I liked The Family Guy, and I love Rugrats.  I don't know if this counts, but I love Spongebob Squarepants.  I don't remember when it came out, but I watch it with my daughter and we both just laugh.  Actually, I just like to watch cartoons. ;D

Welcome to the board, BTW! :)

Cartoons and childrens programs on the TV even today give me a chance to catch up on my mis-spent youth. To wit, I spent my childhood watching The Raggy Dolls (Remember that? # Raggy dolls, raggy dolls, dolls like you and me #), and Wizadora (# Wizadora #). Anyone that ever lived in England knows the ones I am talking about... they were cool... having said that, these were childrens programs rather than animation shows. As for animation cartoons, I loved the Animaniacs, The Simpsons, and (as soon as I managed to get into it) Rugrats. Took me too long, though, and by the time I liked it, I was too old.

Disney's "The Lion King" was the best cartoon of the 90s. But seriously, I liked "King of the Hill" the first year it was on. Then it just became mean-spirited. I really don't watch the newer cartoons anymore.

I just watch "The Simpsons" for the most part. The best of the 90's, IMO.

I see "Recess" (is that 90's or 00's?) once in a while because It's pretty funny and entertaining without the mean spirit and violence of some of the other cartoons nowadays. It's a good one to have in the afternoon time slot for the kids, for sure.

I forgot to mention Dragonball Z... that became a big name in the 90s, so i think I would rank that as #11.  If there was a tv special like this, their list might be different, but my choices may be on there. :P
Also, to Hairspray, Recess was 1997.

I can think of two cartoons that were great, Duckman and Rocko's Modern Life. We actually had a turtle that we named Filbert because that was the turtle's name on Rocko.

:)Anyone remember the "Sonic the Hedgehog" cartoons? There was the daily cartoon which was funny and the Saturday morning one which was more indepth and had all the Mobius inhabitants. The weekday 'toon was my Sonic fix. Not only were Sonic(voice by Jaleel'Urkel' White) and his pal Tails absolutely funny, the fat idiot Robotnik and his two robotic goons, Scratch the Chicken and Grounder were a laugh riot with their various plots to try and capture the blue hedgehog that all FAILED!! And by the way,Robotnik's infamous rant at the end of every episode-"I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!! >:("]

I have a Sonic stuffed toy that is on my computer desk with all my Beanie Baby cats.I got it at a store that sells collectibles. The funniest Sonic episode was the one with the country singer who writes a song about him!

I don't think Family Guy should be on the list. It came out in 1999. It's more of a early 00's cartoon show. The same can be said about Spongebob.

Sagwa(the Chinese Siamese Cat)is a cool cartoon. Being on PBS,it is not a dumb cartoon like SOME network entertainment. Rather it teaches kids stuff like getting along with others, not being bigoted, and respecting parents and others in authority. Also,I love Siamese cats, and Sagwa looks so pretty!

I remember a cartoon in the early nineties called Fender Bender 500 and it was an 'update' of the Wacky Races formula involving Hanna Barbera characters. Has anybody else seen it?

There was briefly a cartoon (late 90's I think)called NASCAR Racers-has anyone heard of it? Why was it taken off the air, being that NASCAR was popular back then too? As for a cartoon that bombed big time-HAMMERMAN(MC Hammer's toon on ABC!)

Technically the Simpsons are 80's.  They first appeared on the Tracy Ulman show in 1987, and the series started in 1989.  If people are selective on what is and what isn't 80's and 90's on other TV shows and movies (like Full House, Family Matters) then why not the Simpsons?

Whoa!  I'd forgotten about Aeon Flux.

I've not posted on here for about 20 months, but I'm still getting the email notifications.  How cools that!

Aeon Flux
The Tick
Animaniacs
The Real Ghostbusters - were they early 90s?  I hope so.
Beavis and Butthead.

All classics in my opinion.

My friends and i can not figure out the name for two 90's cartoon shows that we remember faintly in our heads.  One was something that had to do with a kid named Max.  He had a red baseball cap that he would have on backwards.  We remember him being sold at Mcdonalds a while back and he was the boy version of Pollypockets.  The second one is the big mystery for us, we remember a kid riding his little tricycle around his house in the begginning of the show and it would turn into an airplane or something.  If you remember the names of any of these shows please email me at  gjauerbach@comcast.net
