Subject: All-Star Pitcher Darryl Kile Dies at 33

Written By: Indy Gent on 06/22/02 at 05:09 p.m.

Sad news in the baseball world. St. Louis Cardinal pitcher Darryl Kile died in his sleep Saturday at the Chicago hotel where the team was staying. He was only 33. He had his best years in Houston in the 90s, where he and Mike Hampton were both All-Stars. He will be greatly missed. :'( :'(

I saw this a few minutes ago.  All I could think was Oh My God.  He was supposed to start tomorrow, too.  My prayers are with his family. :'(

It may be inappropriate on this thread, but did you see the picture of Kile's widow and her children in USA Today?
This foxy lady won't have any trouble finding another athlete to marry after she recovers from this tragedy. And in another article in Baseball Weekly, it was written that Kile and his wife had just bought an expensive summer home in San Diego and they're were going to spend their first night in that house on July 7 after the All-Star Game. I don't know how she will stand living there without her husband. I hope he is watching her in Heaven. :'(
