I remember someone was said once that the 90s began with those cartoon character dressed in baggy rap clothes in 1993 i remember when I first saw those i went to a catholic middle school that year only because it was next door to my moms work (she changed jobs after that year so I then when to the regular middle school) it seemed everyone got those shirts for christmas and we had a casual day in early 1993 and everyone was wearing those then later shirts with elmo became popular.

I had a shirt airbrushed for me with Speedy Gonzales on the back of my shirt.  which is cool because I have my first name on the bottom front of my shirt and my last name under him as Gonzalez.  the lettering is in gothic writing, it tight.

I'd have to agree with that quote. I was in fourth grade when I first started seeing them being worn, and they were all the rage.

I had a sweatshirt featuring Bugs, Daffy, et al dressed as rappers.

Yeah, I was shopping 1 day with my Mom and we decided to pick up one of those cartoon shirts(it had to be when I was in 7th grade around 1992-1993.) I wore it to school 1 day not even knowing it was in style. My friend told me he wanted to get one. If I recall right he did get one. I did not undertand at that time why of all things cartoon shirts were in style. I just thought it was plain old shirt.

Well, Matt Groening speaks of an influx of Bart t-shirts at the peak of the Simpsons phenomenon. Me personally? I have one of each Simpson, and many other characters too.

I don't know if you ever noticed but Matt Groening put his initials, MG (same as mine), in the head of Homer.  I thought it was pretty cool.

When I was 18 I had a T-Shirt with a close up picture of Grover on the front with the caption "Near", and on the back was a picture of him waving from far away and the caption read "Far". I wish I could find another one because I loved that shirt.
