Subject: "hip hop" and freezing things

Written By: mountain_networks on 01/29/03 at 10:01 a.m.

Does anyone else wonder about the connection between rap performers and their identity with freezing things?

Ice Cube
Ice T
Vanilla Ice ...

What is it with the whole "Ice" thing?

I'm waiting for an islamist to join the frey and call him/herself "Ice Karim"  :o ;D

Well, that's sort of a good question. ;D

My guess is that "ice" as we all know is cold, and to rap singers it probably means that they want to define themselves as being "cold as ice". Ya know, big and bad and all  ::)

That's just what I think, though. I've never really been fond of rap or hiphop music  ;D

You are far, far behind the times.  To be current, you would have to point out the bizarre trend of so many rappers marking themselves as "Li'l," yet only a couple willing to call themselves "Big."  Maybe it's because both the "Big" rappers are dead.
