Subject: probably impossible to find.

Written By: Spongle on 03/17/03 at 09:45 p.m.

there was a dance song I heard back in 6th grade, which was in 1993-94. It had no lyrics to it, or very few if it did.  I think it might have been by Paula abdul but in not sure. It didn't sound like todays techno songs or anything. it was up beat though. Well that is all I know, hopefully someone could help me out  ??? yeah i know, no too much info there. but any help would be appreciated.

Was it Stereo MC's "Connected"? It only had a very little amount of lyrics and came out around 1993/1994.   8)

Can you remember anything else about the song?

Here's a short list of some near-vocalless techno trax from that era:

Cappella - U Got 2 Let the Music, Move It Up, U Got 2 Know
49ers - Rockin' My Body
Anticappella - Move Your Body
Staxx (of Joy) - Joy
Hi-Lux - Feel It

Even if one of those isn't what you're looking for, they're worth checking out.

Do you remember any of the background vocals?

you know, i wish i could, it was one of those songs where you couldn't really understand the few lyrics because I guess they made the base sound right when the vocals went.

One thing I did remember, which i doubt will help, is in one of those professional skating competitions with those big names like christy yamaguchi (sp) one of the skaters had that song for their performance. I think it was back in 96?..

"Children" is probably what you are thinking of.  I will be DAMNED if I can remember who did it, though.  WAIT!  Robert Miles?  Crap, I don't know....but we played the hell out of it in like 95-96 at the station I was at.

I think it might be "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul.  8)
