Subject: Best Intros to 90's songs

Written By: Criz on 04/07/03 at 11:56 a.m.

I started this thread in the 80s topic and got so many responses, so I thought I'd get a similar thing going for the 90s. These were the first songs that popped into my head and influenced me to create this thread:

- The Cardigans - My Favourite Game
- Annie Lennox - Walking On Broken Glass ( I know someone who is obsessed with this intro and just listens to teh first few seconds over and over again!!! ;D)

Oh oh oh oh!  Yes "World in My Eyes" definitely gets my vote.  "Enter Sandman" by Metallica gets another vote.

Good call on DM.  I would have to say Policy Of Truth is my favorite out of those three, but then again every song on Violater is brilliant.

Another good intro:

U2- One

"Dead Bodies Everywhere" by Korn.  It has a kind of creepy sounding intro that sounds really cool.
"Everything To Everyone" by Everclear.  Has a unique intro to it that is very recognizable, that if you have heard it before you would know it.

Smashing Pumpkins- Tonight, Tonight

I actually bought the single of this song and I rarely do that unless I'm looking for some cheesy 45 to rock out at a Saturday Night house par-tay.  This song and its' intro are not cheesy at all though, in fact it's quite beautiful...

I also like the intro to Smells Like Teen Spirit. It's my fave Nirvana song. The intros to Britney's Baby one More Time and Tragedy by Steps are also great.

The honor for this goes to most tunes by Guns N' Roses, IMO.
