http://www.forumco.com/morgana/icon_smile_approve.gif You are a teen of the 90s if:

You know who Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello are.

You owned a pair of SKID-Z.

You religiously watched 90210, Melrose Place, Party of Five or My So-called Life.

You tight-rolled your jeans.

You wore big hoop earrings.

You thought bellbottoms were horrible and couldn't understand why anyone would've ever worn them.

You watched Dial MTV, and remember who Nelson, Slaughter, Warrant and Winger were.

You knew how to do the dances called the MC Hammer, the Roger Rabbit, and the Running Man.

You owned a pair of K-Swiss, Keds, or Air Jordans.

You thought "Ice Ice Baby" was the coolest song ever, and when your parents told you Vanilla Ice would be shot in the pan, you refused to believe them.

You remember when they played "I'm proud to be an American" every 15 minutes during the Gulf War.

Your bangs were at least 4 inches high, and you thought it looked good.

A haidryer was required to set your hair.

You rolled up the sleeves of your t-shirts, and tucked it in the front, letting the back hang out.

You had any "No Fear" or "B.U.M" clothing.

You wore 2 pairs of neon colored socks.

You wore overalls with only one side connected.

You had Electric Youth perfume.

You remember when cartoons were actually GOOD, and not scary like the Teletubbies.

You loved to slow dance to power ballads.

You had a "Snap bracelet".

You wore sweatpants pulled up to your knees.

You had a black Debbie Gibson hat.

You wanted to be just like Paula Abdul.

You know the words to "The Humpty Dance".

You owned the Bell Biv DeVoe tape.

You said, "SIKE!" OR "WAY!".

You saw "Waynes World" at least 2 times at the theater.

You loved the New Kids (and Joey was probably your favorite).

You wore jeans pulled up to your navel.

All of your clothes were "baggy".

You owned a pair of biker shorts.

You wore "swim shoes" into the pool.

You had a boom box, or your stereo was a weird color like pink.

You bought tapes instead of CDs.

You never missed "Fresh Prince".

You or someone you knew wore "Cross-Colors" clothing.

You remember when TLC weren't divas, and they dressed like they were in a circus.

You thought "I'm too sexy" was such a cool song.

You "busted a move" while C&C Music Factory was playing.

You remember when Mark Wahlberg was part of "Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch".

You owned a silk shirt, which you tucked into your jeans.

You had jeans in various colors, like green, brown, black...

You had a "Button your Fly" t-shirt.

You had a Ren and Stimpy shirt.

You thought long-haired heavy metal bands would never go out of style.

You were addicted to Nintendo.

There were multiple rubber bands on your ponytail.

You gave the "peace" sign all the time.

You loved Beavis and Butthead.

If you were a guy, you had your hair shaved underneath and you parted it down the middle.

You wore nylons under your shorts.

You owned a pocket rocker.

Union Bay was really expensive and such a treat to get.

Adidas shoes were all you wore with anything.

"Let's talk about sex" was sang on every bus ride to and from school.

You had Hypercolor t-shirts and shorts.

You thought it was cool to have everyone sign your binder at school.

You wore watches wich you could change the color of the band.

You wore Champion sweatshirts in every color.

Half of those apply to me when I was younger. I remember in fifth and sixth grade seeing EVERY boy in my classes wear those "No Fear" shirts.

lol, whatever happened to "sike!" i haven't used that in so long. Yea i think everyone wore B.U.M. I used to play my nintendo even into 1998, even though i had a turbo grafx, a sega saturn, and a Genesis. I would always find some classic NES game through a friend/magazine/the net. And TLC was the bomb(lol)back in the day, they were just so crazy and young and didn't care.

A lot of that stuff seems more late 80's then 90's.  Like the word "Sike", tight rolling jeans, Debbie Gibson, Paula Abdul, and playing the original 8-bit Nintendo.

From my memory, neither Debbie Gibson or Paula Abdul were that popular even in the early 90s, they both sorta faded away in 1989 or 1990 at the latest.

Though "No Fear", B.U.M., and 90210 are dead on 90's.

Hey--- not to sound old or anything, but when you guys from the 90s said "sike!", was that the same thing as when us guys from the 80s said "psych!" ???  (which meant "psych'ed you out"?)

"Sike" was originally an 80's slang word, I remember kids saying that in 1985 and 1986.  It did not come from the 90's, it is an 80's slang that just stayed popular.  There are a lot of 80's slang words that continued being popular into the 90's and now in the 00's.

The Super Nintendo and new Gameboy's were just improvements on 80's stuff.  I think Sega had already released their Sega Genesis in the late 80's, which basically had the same byte amount of the Super Nintendo.  In the 80's, there was a ton of stuff around that was totally brand new, that no one had ever heard or seen of before.  It wasn't just merely an improvement over previous technology from the 70's.

I remember all of this stuff.  Makes me feel old and I'm only going to be 30 this year.  The one thing I'm thankful for is that big bangs are out of style.   ;D  I don't think I could fix my hair like that now if I had to.

Paul, the new gameboy is part of the 00's decade. Gameboy still looks like the NES in the 90's.

This post gave me a good laugh this morning. I remember more than half of those and have to admit remember doing or wearing most of those.

Debbie Gibson rocked!!
