Subject: What is your favorite song about losing loved ones
My favorite song of the is "One Sweet Day", because it is a wonderful song about those who have lost loved ones, and that they are looking down on us. I also love "The Dance", I cry everytime I listen to that song, because it reminds me of my brother who killed closing at a Subway restaurant on April 26th, 2001 in Colorado Springs. But now that I have my wife, and my baby who was born on September 7th, 2003, everything is going wonderful except for the fact that they are down in Colorado Springs, and I am in Utah. Because I couldn't hold down a job, and her father-in-law sent me up here to live with my family to grow up, and start being responsible. He thinks I am being selfish, because I want to see her and the baby, but he wants to keep her there forever, and I want to come down in a month to come down and get her, so another song that makes me cry, is "Everything I Do, I Do It For You", By Bryan Adams, because it is mine and my wife's song. "In Picture" by Alabama right now is my song for my baby, until she comes up, because until she comes up, that is all I am going to see her in, is pictures.

Quite a few actually. I seem to have a thing for losing-your-loved-one songs. LOL
There are a lot of Simon and Garfunkle songs that have this theme, and here's what I like, "Scarborough Fair"---"She once was a true love of mine"
"Groovin' Thing"---"...can't make it without you."
"Dangling Conversation"---"...it's just a memory..."
"Old Friends/Bookends Theme"---"I have a photograph; it's all that's left of you."

I don't think I have a favourite song on the topic, randbfan but these songs make me ponder on the memories I had for my deceased grandad.

'Have I the right' - The Dead End Kids
'The Man who shot Liberty Vallance' - Gene Pitney
I play these songs when I am down. They serve as a 'communication link' to my grandad. It's the only way I can describe it. I'm not weird honest. :)

Well, I am going to put in 2 songs here. One is a totally silly choice, that I have loved for over 20 years. The other is a totally serious choice.
I Want My Baby Back - Jimmy Cross
THis is a silly song, a total parody of the "Love sick dead teen" genre of the late 1950's and early 1960's. Any song that involves The Beatles, a car crash, body stealing and necrophilia can't be all bad.
My serious choice is Holes In The Floor Of Heaven by Steve Wariner.
When this song came out, it was a favorite of my fiancee. She loved this song, and would rush to the TV whenever the video came on. WHen she was taken from us, a friend sang it at her funeral. This is what I think of whenever I think about her watching over our children.

I lost a sibling too whom I love very much and it was just about the same number of years ago. Time has eased the pain for my parents and myself. In time, you and your family will remember mostly the happy times and smile. I promise. :)

"Danny Boy" My husband was Daniel and he was Irish. The very saddest song I've ever heard ,as he died young.

I bet my mother was thinking of that song when they had the unveiling of my neighbor's tombstone.he died in february at age 70.He had something in his sytem that was bothering him but it was too late. :(
