Hmm, worst would be 1995.

Best would be... hard choice....probably 1998?  Let's see, there was still the Spice Girls( ::)), Pokemon ( ::) ::))was just getting popular near the end of the year, and the Crazy Bone craze was about to begin.  Ahh, those were my late childhood memories.  :D

1998. Fantastic year all around. I moved in with my honey (now my husband  ;D) and we took a great trip across country. My grandmother had a 90th birthday party (and family reunion) in Tulsa. After there, we went to California. My first trip there. Thanks to my sister, we had (free) tickets to Disney Land -something I had always wanted to do. Sailed to Catalina. On the way home, we stopped in Las Vegas (and won $300 in a slot machine), and stopped off at Zion Natural Park. We were gone about a month.

Except for the death of Kurt Cobain, and the OJ Simpson trial, 1994 was my favorite pop-culture-wise.

As for my life, let me think:
1990:  the year I realized it was the 90's and not just another year.  My friend at the time said that he heard somewhere about a psychic talk about which would last throughout the 90s: New Kids, Ninja Turtles, or Simpsons(s/he said Simpsons).  Don't Look at me ???  Then there was the episode of Tiny Toon Adventures where Babs tells Hamton that disco is dead, and he should join the 90's.  ALso, the time I first drew my comics character.
1995:  My comics developed a whole new style.
1996:  First comic book from marvel comics, which later changed my comics even more.
1997:  Became bigger fan of music.
1998:  Graduated from High school, age 18.  Also, I became a little more social.
1999:  Music was at its peak in my 90s life.  Also I entered community college for a while.

Out of all this, I'd say 1998 was the best year in my life period.

1995--'cause I had my first serious boyfriend
then 1999---that was a good year for me also

I'll give an honourable mention to 1994 because the music was great. (The Cranberries, Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots, Offspring....)

Favorite year's: 1996 and 1998.

1996: I liked the music scene that year. Stone Temple Pilots had a few good songs that year as did Alice In Chains. I think Silverchair and Bush were hot too. My favorite Basketball team the Utah Jazz went to the western confeernce finals before losing to the Seattle Supersonics in Game 7. The Yankees won the world series that year. I just remebered when the Chicago Bulls won the championship Michael Jordan was crying after the Bulls beat the Sonics on 6 games wasn't he?  I was breaking out of my shyness stage too or at least trying too.

1998: I remember I was rocking to R&B Groups Next's  hit "Too Close". I graduated High School too. That was a good year that year.

Y2K never convinced me.  Being a computer nut, I didn't see the logic in such a thing.  Has to be the biggest hoax since Milli Vanilli's secret. :P

Music wise - I think it has to be between 94-96, most probably 96. I'm chosing that year beacuse it was the peak of Britpop, and after that, popular music started to go drastically downhill until last year. There were so many good and signature songs in 1996 -

Signature songs of the year (not all are good!)-
- Babylon Zoo - Spaceman
- Baddiel, Skinner & the Lightning Seeds - 3 Lions
- Mark Morrisson - Return of The Mack
- 2pac & Dr Dre - California Love
- Gina G - Ooh, Ahh Just A Little Bit
- Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffanys
- Jamiroqui - Virtual Insanity
- Fugees - Ready Or Not

Plain Good Ol' Songs -
- Bluetones - Slight Return
- Suede - Beautiful Ones
- Blackstreet - No Diggety
- Alanis Morrissette - Head Over Feet
- Belinda Carlisle - In Too Deep
- Radiohead - Street Spirit
- Dubstar - Stars
- Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger
- Blur - Stereotypes
- Garbage - Stupid Girl
- Ocean Colour Scene - Day We Caught The Train
- Toni Braxton - Your Making Me High
- Shed Seven - On Standby

...to name but a few :]

1990-1995. Stuff changed after the Internet got big in 1994/95; everything changed: music, culture, everything. By 1996, 'the 90s' were over.

What year was this a hit? Was a hit in the United States? I remember Belinda Carlisle having hits around 1987 like "Mad About You", "Circle In the Sand" and "Heaven".

93-97 were awesome years (yea there was some not so great stuff in 97, like the spice girls, the real(skanky) mariah, Hanson, Ally McBeal, Backstreet Boys, puff daddy, etc..but the good stuff outweighs it for me)

All the songs I listed were released in 1996 in the UK. I have no idea whether it was out in the US? She also had another hit that year that I remember, 'Always Breaking My Heart' which I quite like too :]

As far as I know, she continued to release songs all throughout the early 90s, but not all did well. 1996 was the best year for her in the 90s. 'In Too Deep' got to no. 6, and 'Always Breaking My Heart' hit no. 8 in the UK charts. Apart from her solo debut in the late 80s, this was her best year for chart success.
