Subject: TV Nation-why was it cancelled?

Written By: NASCARnut on 11/25/03 at 11:20 p.m.

Why did the powers that be at NBC cancelTV NATION?Was it that controversial?I thought it was funny how Michael Moore and crew made certain famous(and INFAMOUS)people SQUIRM!! Especially people like the Ku Klux Klan and the head of Operation Rescue(the pro-life folks)!Did NBC not want any backlash for airing the show?

Just out of curiosity... when was that show on? I don't think I remember it.

:-*TV Nation aired sporadically during the mid to late 1990's.I don't think NBC liked the show due to it dealing with controversial people and topics,I think they had it in for the show's creator,Michael Moore!(Bowling For Columbine,Roger and Me his other projects) :-X

Sounds like my kind of show!  But I don't get it.. they'll put multiple (un)reality shows on showing a bunch of people backstabbing and conniving behind each others back (basically one aspect of the worse side in humans) but they won't allow a show that points out inconsistancies in a targetted special interest group?  Maybe the network was afraid they might be next.  ;)

Once a show makes schedule (air), it would be a rareity to see it retrospectively dropped by network executives based on their personal & philosophical reasons or agendas.  The bottom line is always advertising revenue.  Most shows are pulled from the schedule due to low ratings, and to a MUCH lesser degree:  due to public pressure.  Viewing trends seem to parallel what the viewer  accepts as appropriate, relevant and/or entertaining... and, of course, vice-versa.    :D
