Subject: "The Simpson's" Characters.

Written By: Secret_Squirrell on 12/02/03 at 05:34 p.m.

This may seem like a weird request, but can anyone put a face to the people who do the voices on "The Simpson's"?  I think I recall seeing a picture of the girl who does Bart's voice back in the early 90's.

Well, here are the voice credits (only the simpson family, though, I can't possibly list all of them).

Dan Castellaneta-Homer Simpson
Nancy Cartwright- Bart simpson
Julie Kavner-Marge Simpson
Yeardley Smith-Lisa Simpson (also rumored to be the voice of Maggie in " Lisa's First Word"

I believe Elizabeth Taylor provided the voice of Maggie in that episode.

Thanks!  I never thought to do a Google image search.  Check out what the face behind Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa looks like:

I think I recognize Yeardley Smith, I think she played the whiney mousey newlywed chick in the movie "Maximum Overdrive."

Yeardley Smith also provided one of the personalities (the timid one) in "Herman's Head".

Other Simpsons' voice credits that I remember without making the effort to read that link:

Hank Azaria - many people
Harry Shearer - almost everyone else  ;D

That is really the only person I know of that did a voice on that show (I am not a Simpson's fan).  But you forgot one other person

David Hyde Pierce played Cecil Terwilliger, the brother of Sideshow Bob Terwilliger in an episode.  This is a cute casting, since he play's Kelsey Grammer's brother in Fraiser.

FYI:  "Sideshow Bob" Terwilliger is an homage to the main bad guy in the classic movie "The 5,000 Fingers Of Dr. T" by Dr. Seuss.  In the movie, the hero is a little boy who makes Dr. Terwilliger's life crazy.  The name of the boy?  Bart, of course!

A long time ago now (1990, in fact), I got a Simpsons album on CD...called "Sing the Blues" (includes "Do the Bartman" and "Deep, Deep Trouble").  Inside the CD sleeve there's pictures of the voice people next to their character.  :)  One of them was the radio guy on Wayne's World 2 (his name was Handsome Dan :P ).

Oh man, that Waynes World scene is priceless. Especially the guy they "thought" was handsome Dan, and he turned out to be the scream guy. lol! Too funny.,,,,AW

Oh man, what a memory!

A few years ago, I was told about this J-pop group called "Shonen Knife".  It is a chick group, that does a great version of "Do The Bartman" in Japanese!

Trust me, next time you go to a party, put that one on.  Then sit back and wait for the reaction when they realize it is not the way they remember it.  :)

That was Harry Shearer. Shearer and Azaria were both in "Godzilla".

Kurt Cobain was one of their biggest fans, and pushed them whenever he could. They might be bigger, if he was still around.,,,,AW

she was also in the "Legend of Billie Jean".  I used to watch Herman's Head when it was on.  The first season wasn't too bad. That was back when Fox took more risks on scripted comedy (instead of the "reality" garbage they peddle now).
