I agree with you about the "old" Saved by the Bell, but I must admit that I never watched the "new" (I assume you're referring to "Saved by the Bell: The New Class").

The New Class was actually the same people only they grew up right after they had graduated High School.I liked the Old version much better.

Yes I watched...one episode and then that was it! It only lasted, like a month, or something like that, lol. Nobody really liked it. It's all history now and frankly, I'm glad.

i saw it occassionaly on TNBC, it was ok i guess, but they kept messing with the cast. Actually the show went on from 94 to 2000 i think, so some people must have been watching regularly.

Saved by the bell: The New Class was just a rehash of the old one. The first one was excellent with Zack and the gang.

I saw the occasional episode of 'The College years' and it goes to show that some things should just be left alone.

It lasted from 1993 to 2000, and that was what was so stupid about the New Class.  The kids weren't that much younger then the original class, but for some mysterious reason---they were in high school for SEVEN YEARS!!!

At least the original kids did their 4 years of high school from 1989 to 1993 and that was that.  They were real teenagers, not people in their early 20's, and they didn't pretend to be in high school longer then should have been.  They original gang with Zack, Slater and Screech have 1 year of college shown up till 1994 though.

Subject: Re: Anyone actually like The New Saved by the Bell

Written By: 1992thousand on 02/11/04 at 10:39 a.m.

actually most of the people on the new class were teenagers in their time on the show. they werent in high school for 7 years, they kept changing the cast. 3 people left at the end of each of the first 3 seasons, 1 person left at the end of the 4th and 5th, and most of the people were at least 5 years younger than the original saved by the bell cast after the first few seasons.

Eww... Leah is a pig.  She reminds me of the chicks who used to smoke out behind the sewage plant in high school.  And if she spends one more hour in a tanning bed, her face is gonna look like a catcher's mitt.

Kelly was OK.  The kind that you take for a romp in the hay then tell her to get lost.

Now the Elizabeth Berkley character was awesome.  I could get addicted to, and obsessed with her.  She's now seeing a resurgence in her career, which took quite a hit when she did Showgirls.

I think Slater used to go out with Kelley when the show was in its second season. Eventually Zack went out with Kelley and than Slater went out with Jessie(Elizabeth Berkeley) so thats the way that worked out.

I don't think Kelley was in the show's first season If I'm right.
I remember some other girl when I was watching older episodes of the show. She was a brunette like Kelley was.

Anyways, the old class was way better than the new class was. The new Class changed characters way too much. The original was just so much better. I remember watching it every Saturday morning(the 89-93 one.) What was the name of the restaraunt the gang of Saved By the Bell would always chill at after school?

Man just reminiscing about times just brings you back. I never thought at the time(10-15 years ago)I would feel that way.

Its like these people on TV shows just grew up with you or something. Its weird.

They just don't make shows like this anymore.

I saw somewhere that the guy who played Zack did not like being typecast as "Zack" forever, and that it took him 10 years to get rid of the image.  :-/

My guess is that if they made a reunion movie, the only actors that would sign on would be Screech and Mr. Belding.

That said, I'd GLADLY watch a reunion movie if Elizabeth Berkley were in it.  Man is she hot.  :P

Remember the episode where Zack fell for the school's young nurse? At first, when Zack meets her in the hallway, he thinks she's a student, but when he goes to have his shot later, he finds out she's the new nurse. Kelly, meanwhile, feels neglected because Zack had asked her to go steady before all this started. So Jessie, Slater, and Lisa tell the nurse to play a trick on Zack.

I think those were two different episodes. The first one I remember; however I don't remember the name of the pills. Jessie was desperate to pass Mr. Dewey's math exam. This was the same episode where the girls performed a song that went something like, "Put your mind to it, go for it..."

The second one I also remember. A guy named Johnnie DaKota came to Bayside to film an anti-drug ad, but when the gang went to his house for a party, they found out that he was a drug user. So the next day, they walked out on him and told this to Mr. Belding, who called up Brandon Tarticoff (the real CEO of NBC) to do the anti-drug ad.

Howard... according to imdb.com , Mark-Paul was born on March 1, 1974.  No wonder you like the show!  ;D

I think the first three Malibu Sands eps were on TBS this morning/afternoon. ;) Which means the other three will probably be on tomorrow.

So did I. :) Like I said last month, I taped all of them when they were on TBS during the last week of January. I had seen the first two last summer and they seemed very interesting because of the beach motif. (I enjoy the beach anyway. :)) Now I can watch them whenever I want, on my little TV.  ;D

Yes Elizabeth Berkley were in all the episodes. Why must they repeat those episodes on Channel 8 every single month? >:(

Well where I live, TBS shows two episodes every day (not counting weekends).

According to an SBTB Episode List at http://homepage.mac.com/ijball/SbtB/List.html , there were only about 69 episodes of SBTB.  By the way, that web page/site is cool if you are a SBTB fan.  ;)

The 69 episodes EXCLUDE "Malibu Sands" and "The Tori Run" which did not star Elizabeth Berkley.  :'(

So given the number of true "old class" SBTB episodes that are out there, and TBS showing two eps a day, in about a month-and-a-half they will run thru all the episodes.  :-/

The Tori run also excluded Tiffani Thiessen, who played Kelly.  :(

Today is Lark Voorhies' birthday; she's 30 today. (She played Lisa Turtle.) Happy Birthday!  :D

I never liked the Kelly character.  Too "white bread" and homogenized for my tastes.  It seemed to me that they were tying to jam her down our throats.  In my high school, she would not have lasted for a week.

Tiffani-Amber Thiessen has now reinvented herself and has dropped the "Amber".  I think that will really jump-start her career.  :P

I'd like to see a SBTB Reunion Movie.

But not one of those cheesy "SBTB Does Hawaii" made-for-TV types, but rather a big-budget feature film starring, of course, the original cast.  8)

I bet the box office would be HUGE for a high-quality SBTB movie.  :D

If only they had good producers to budget the movie together. :-/

I've seen the "SBTB Hawaiian Style" film. It was ok, though. ;)
