It has been ten years since the 6'3" John Candy died from a heart attack at 43.

What is your favorite John Candy movie? I loved Spaceballs. :)

"Spaceballs" is great! I place it high on my list of faves because I love Sci-Fi in general and "Star Wars" and this spoof was very funny and memorable.

I remember him well from SCTV.  Great comedian.  If only he took better care of himself..  :(

Yes, I saw a bit on SCTV when he was a drummer in a punk rock group, lead singer was Martin Short.  Candy was doing a Charlie Watts style on the drums, it was hilarious, then I realized they sounded pretty good.  Anyone see it?

I liked him best in Splash and Cool Runnings.

Gosh that ten years went fast.

Comedy movies have not been the same since the "Candy Man" left us. What I think killed him was the combination of the dessert heat (from the location filming of "Wagon's East",his last film) and his "roller-coaster" dieting. All that gaining and losing put a strain on his heart. Check him out in "Summer Rental", and then compare that to the way he looked in "The Great Outdoors". Only two years had passed between the making of those two films, but the rapid weight loss, and gain, made him look like a different person!!!  Rest in Peace,John!  :'( Sincerely,Steve.

The early 1/2 hour SCTV stuff was great, John doing the Rocky parody, Johnny LaRue, the guy with the snake tatoo on his face...man I feel old.
Miss you John.
