Subject: Any body remember River Pheonix?

Written By: Wendy on 03/23/04 at 00:44 a.m.

Hi I am Wendy

I remember when River died I was ten years old. I had never heard of him then. Now I respect him as an actor with an actual personality.
I do tarot cards and figured he liked to laugh to himself like I did when I was a kid. But I was just curious about that since I was always wondering who else had this strange talent.

So does any body have any thoughts or remeber how they felt when he died?

Now I am writing a childrens book series on these sprites like goblins, elves, faeries, and that sort of nature and was looking back at myself as a 10 year old. I had this weird thing where I woudl laugh to myself. I thought of so much cool stuff it was too weird to describe.

Well thank you for letting me share that with you.

By the way does any one remember all those cool shows on Nickelodeon like Ren and Stimpy and especialy hey dude and salute your shorts? I lived for those!

bye.

Wendy

River was one of my favorite actors. I remember being absolutely stunned and devastated upon hearing the news of his death.
Favorite River movies would be Dogfight, My Own Private Idaho, Mosquito Coast and Running On Empty.

Yeah.  When he died I thought.  "Well, another dope-head just wasted his talent again."

I think he was seriously overrated as an actor.

What attracted people to River was his good looks, and that mysterious/rebellious confused James Dean wannabe bad boy image that he knowingly or unknowingly put out there.  His death gave him even more mystique then he had in life.

I liked River Phoenix. My favorite movie of his of course is Stand By Me. It is too bad that his talent was wasted from drugs though.

I know for a fact that River Phoenix was born in the year 1970.  He died in 1993 outside Johnny Depp's club, so he was 22 or 23 years old.

I can't believe that guy would have been over 30 today in 2004.  Heck I can't believe a lot of people born in the 70's are in their 30's now.
