Subject: Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" line

Written By: Yvonne McFarland on 4/10/2001 at 4:47 p.m.

In "Jeremy", what is he saying on this part? I believe it to be:

"Picking on the boy. Simple, harmless little fun." Or does he say something else?

If you listen closely, (or see the video) he is saying "Picking on the boy, just a harmless little fuck." In the radio version he says "just a harmless little boy." Yes, this is a great tune and video, "Ten" is my favorite work by Pearl Jam.

Well, there I go again! I'm terrible with lyrics, but I think my "version" of "Jeremy" is pretty good too *lol* (and the original poster had the same misconception...). Ten was, definitely, Pearl Jam's moment of glory; personally, I like "Black" the best, but "Jeremy" is the first song I heard from them and it made me think that 90s music can be excellent too.

Actually, that's the only song from them I will not listen to. Chalk it up to the "everyone likes it, here, listen and like it, every hour you must like it" that radio likes to pound out sometimes. "Evenflo" was always my fave. I don't know why, just always has been.

...the mass public is right. I really like that song, no matter how many times it's played on the radio - I guess it's one of those songs that I can never "wear out." That's amazing in itself, I think, because I REALLY listen to songs to death.
