Three tracks from it were hits in the early part of 1990, although I tend to tilt “Personal Jesus” more towards 1989 since that was when the single came out and began to chart (so it could be a ‘decade cusp’ song), but “Enjoy The Silence” and “Policy Of Truth” were definitely hits in 1990 (but recorded in 89). Those get my vote.

Yeah, I remember it being popular around January of 1990 when I was in 5th grade, right around the same time when Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam" was popular. I still have this song in my 1990 playlist though, which in fact is the first song on that playlist. Violator is my favorite album by them as well. I also like Enjoy the Silence, Policy of Truth, and World in My Eyes.

There is also “It's No Good” from 1997; that was a moderate hit (but definitely a decent track).
