I see a couple of stand outs in your list of 10. But if your "I'll be there" for the Spice Girls should actually be "Say You'll Be There", then I'll go with..

"Say You'll Be There" - Spice Girls
--and--
Barely Breathing - Duncan Sheik

And for the best I'll give the trophy to Duncan. Great song.  :)

;)

They were all overplayed, thats for sure.  I didnt like any of them either.

The one Hanson song I did like was one that was barely played at all.  Their song called "Weird".

Somehow, you actually picked all the least memorable hit songs of 1997.  I can barely remember how any of these go.

I think a lot of them were memorable, and liked many of them, actually.. but I went with "Barely Breathing" because I remember hearing it on our way home from the hospital after having our daughter.  :)

I don't remember the Wild Orchid or Duncan Sheik songs, but I do remember the others.  From your list, I'd say Men in Black :)

Although the best memorable hit of '97 for me was probably a tie between Call Me by Le Click "AND" Da Ya Think I'm Sexy by N-Trance and Rod Stewart :)

"Honey", one of the only two, the other being "Without You",  Mariah Carey songs I can tolerate  :)

1997... also the last  year MTV was still worth watching

Then again, I mostly liked VH1 better and i was around the same age as the Hanson brats

I'm mostly into hard rock so I don't remember most of the songs on the list, I picked "Aqua - Barbie Girl" not so much because it was especially memorable musically speaking, more because of all the Mickey Mouse about the band being sued by the Barbie Company, and as far as I remember Aqua won.

Barbie Girl - Aqua

Memorable yes, but for the wrong reasons!
