Subject: Memorable 90's Commercials

Written By: eightiesfan on 10/28/04 at 8:20 am

1990-91 the Diet Pepsi ads with Ray Charles and the Uh-Huh Girls

1994 - Diet Coke ad with Lucky Vanous

the Snackwells commercials where those ladies kept chasing after the store clerk to get the cookies - they gave him the nickname
"Mr Cookie Man" or something like that

Can anyone think of some more?

Too many! I could start naming some, but it could take a while...

But I do remember this one so well:

1990-91 the Diet Pepsi ads with Ray Charles and the Uh-Huh Girls

"You've got the right one baby...uh-huh!" I remember that slogan. I was in 5th grade at the time; sometimes I'd hear kids at school singing it and changing two of the words to their opposites (i.e., "you've got the wrong one baby; uh-unh").

I have to admit that I obsessed about it too.

I didn't grow up during the 90s (despite being a newborn in 1999), but I do love the decade's commercials. Here a few of my favorites from YouTube.

Oh God, I remember that one. What about, .."Just for the taste of it, DIET COKE!"

Another one was " EX-CLA-MA-TION!"

I love watching '90s commercials, especially the ones intended for kids. Always such a huge nostalgia rush. 8)

The thing I miss are the really catchy jingles that commercials used to have back in those days. Remember when you used to see ads like this on TV?

^ Yeah, that was it. It looked like she was sitting so low at her desk; either she couldn't afford a chair or the desk was designed that way on purpose; I dunno.

I think that commercial was from 1989, when the Sega Genesis was released in North America.

No, it's from 1990. James "Buster" Douglas Knockout Boxing was not released in the US until 1990.

Well, that does make some sense. I always thought "Genesis Does What Nintendon't" was from 1989. However, it does like very 80s. Even in 1990.

Of course not. "Genesis does what Nintendon't"... clever tag line. I remember that ad very well (and variations of it). :D

So, was it made in 1989? I'm now confused over this.

I don't think so. I will trust Early90sGuy's post above, based on what he highlighted.

So, I guess it was truly made in 1990. Heh.

Yep. And I think that ad campaign continued into 1991. I was a regular watcher of kids' programming back then.

Just remembered this one from back in the day. This might just be the most '90s commercial ever made. 8)

Here's another commercial I liked as a kid that might be even more '90s than the Honeycomb one.

It seems like most ads from 1992-1996 seem like they belong to the 90s, were those from 1997-1999 look like they came from 2000-2004. Why are these ads not considered as 90s ones?
