Subject: Bad 90's videos

Written By: JamieMcBain on 12/05/04 at 12:43 pm

What videos from the 90's do you consider to be bad (or for that matter chessy?) I would have to say:

"Ice Ice Baby" - Vanilla Ice
"You Are Not Alone" - Micheal Jackson
"Macarena" - Los Del Rios
"Rico Sauve" - Gerado
"Living Liva Loca" - Ricky Martin (the one with William Hung is just as cheesy!  ::))
"2 Legit To Quit" - Hammer
"Achy Breaky Heart" - Billy Ray Cyrus
"The Thong Song" - Sisqo

Those all reek! NTM, I know of 2 lousy clips by Alanis Morrisette. Head Over Feet showed a complete lack of imagination, and Thank U? Her slow-motion streak through downtown L.A. was terrible, if she were attractive it might help, but not much! any others?

Your Pal,
Doc

I am going to get flack from Spice Girl fans, but Wannabe  is also cheesy as well, and so  is Hit Me Baby One Time by Britney Spears.

There's good "cheese" videos  like Deborah Gibson ("Anything Is Possible") & early TLC ("Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "What About Your Friends") ...  :D

The worst:

Rammstein "Du Hast"

Los Del Rio "Macarena"
Notorious BIG feat. Mase & Puff Daddy "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems"
Britney Spears "Baby One More Time"
Backstreet Boys "I Want It That Way"
Limp Bizkit "Nookie"
Hammer "Too Legit To Quit"
4 Non Blondes "What's Up"
Gerardo "Rico Suave"
Vanilla Ice "Ice, Ice, Baby"
Marilyn Manson "The Beautiful People"
Eddie Murphy feat, Michael Jackson "Whazupwitu"
Ricky Martin "Livin' La Vida Loca"
Any country video from Shania Twain, Barth Brooks, etc.
Snow "Informer"
White Zombie "More Human Than Human"
Hootie & The Blowfish "Hold My Hand"
Puff Daddy "Victory"
Nelson "After The Rain"
Metallica "Fuel"
Hanson "Mmm Bop"
Jennifer Lopez "Waitin' For Tonight"
Kriss Kross "Jump"
Kid Rock "Bawitaba"
The Prodigy "Firestarter"
Christina Aguilera "Genie In A Bottle"
Jay Z "Big Pimpin"
Mandy Moore "Candy"
Sisqo "Thong Song"
Korn "A.D.I.D.A.S."
Master P "Makem Say Uhh"
Wilson Phillips "Hold On"
Jewel "Hands"
The Verve "The Freshmen"
Color Me Badd "I Wanna S x You Up"
New Kids On The Block "Step By Step"
Cher "Believe"
Aqua "Barbie Girl"
Chumbawamba "Tubthumping"

...and many more...

By greats:

U2 "Numb"
Alanis Morissette "Thank U" (I only like her 1995 album & a couple videos from that)
Michael Jackson "You Are Not Alone" (Though I don't like his material after 1991)
Madonna "Bed Time Story" (ditto)

All 4 Love by Color Me Badd and Jump and I Miss The Bus by Kriss Kross, are chessy! As for Garth Brooks, he's one of my favorite artists, but the video he did as Chris Gaines, Heaven Knows stunk like limburger!

It's from 1988.

I personally like this & "Black Or White", which featured great special effects like the morphing scene.  :)

Though I can't  sit through the uncut ending of the "Black Or White" video.  :P

I cringe at the "rapping" part of the video.

Hit Me Baby One Time by Britney Spears.

I'm not a Britney fan, but people forget that the song is called '...Baby One More Time' with a dot dot dot at the beginning.
I'm sorry, but I had to pick it out.

I think what I meant was that I hated the morphing & rap scene but enjoyed the others. ;D

"The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson, was cheesy, and so was "The Dope Show".
