Subject: The 90s may be remembered for the late part most

Written By: Full_House_Fan on 02/24/05 at 10:45 pm

I've said 1992-1996 was the real 90s and any years outside aren't really legit, but I think the 90s might be rewritten in pop culture as the 1997-2003 period.  I hope not but they could be.  Although Grunge will always give the early 90s legit 90sness.

The "sixties" are really more like 1967-1973 when you think about it.  Could the 90s be remember chiefly for numetal and Boy Bands?  After all the 2000s are kinda like a stretched out, corporate 90s, although they're not that similar decades.

What the heck does 2003 have to do with the '90s? Make it simple FHF, lol, The '90s will be remember as the years 1990-1999. The '60s are remembered as 1960-1969, see the pattern? So according to you definition of the '60s, Kennedy was actually assassinated in the '50s even though it was 1963 because the "real" '60s didn't begin until 1967? I mean to say the '60s are remembered as '67-'73 is just dumb, when people think of the '60s they think of 1960-1969, it's a simple as that really. It goes the same for the '90s and any other decade.

Yeah I guess you're right, I didn't think of Kennedy.  Maybe I should stop posting these topics, some get a tad annoyed by them.

I guess the "cultural 60s" are more like 1963-1973.

Remember also the Beatles hit in big in 1964, so are they '50s artists, I don't think so, so saying 1967-1973 is the "real '60s" is just dumb.

I stand corrected.  The 60s culture started in 1963, peaked around 1968, and fell c. 1973.  I make the 60s period too short, you are right :)

People have differing opinions on what '60 culture is and when it ended, that's why you really can't say when it ended and such. That's why people go the simpler route and just say '60s are 1960-1969, because you can't argue over that.

See the problem is you're asking questions that don't have an answer, like which faith is correct, or is _______ a lie, who knows, it's a matter of opinion. Same thing about what the actual culture part of a decade, people have differing opinions on that, there really is no correct answer. Sorry to get little tough on you, but when I see 2003 getting put in with 1997, I'm like what the heck is this guy talking about.

I'm more asking opinions with my topics than answers.  I should of stated that more clearly.
