Subject: Should there be a 1999 child board?

Written By: Full_House_Fan on 03/03/05 at 5:39 pm

Okay I know I p*ss some people off with this date stuff, but I'm just tired of stuff like Britney Spears getting listed on the 90s board.  Yes I consider her 90s but come on, does she really deserve to be grouped in with Nirvana, Old School/Gangsta Rap, Coffee, Seinfeld, hell, even Mariah Carey?

I think it would be cool if Chucky made a 1999 board for late 90s-early 00s stuff like Britney, NYSNC, and numetal, not to mention other Millennium-related things.  Besides the 80s has a child board now.

No 1999 is just as much part of the '90s as 1991 or whatever, the '90s don't need to be split up, would a 1990's news child board be a good idea, well I don't know maybe.

Musically 1999 is like the precursor to today, but I more think of it as the center of a period unto itself that spanned from about 1997 to 2002.  Today is pure 2000s.

Maybe to an extent, especially with the repeated motif's and rythmns.  That was kool in 1998.

If you include 1979 with the rest of the 70s, and 1989 and then ridicoulsly as well 1990 and 1991 with the rest of the 80s,.....then d*mn dude 1999 should be included with 1993 whether you like it or not.

I will be older, but I will laughing at you and people your age when that kid born in 2002 and 2005 keep telling you that 2004 and '05 still looks like the 90s.  I will laugh at you so much when they can't tell any difference between 1999 and 1995 because they were not there or not old enough.  I will really laugh my a$$ off when they say that '03 still looks like 1996.  THEN you will know how annoying it can all be, and how we feel.

I bet even kids born in 1996, 1997 and 1998 will give people your age hell about that.  Definately any kid born in the '00s will laugh at you about that.   Those kids are OUR kids and/or nieces and nephews.  We will train them well to get revenge on your age group FOR US.  That's how it works, you train your kids and/or neices and nephews to get revenge on the generation that was younger then you and laughed at you...but are old enough to your own kids/nieces/nephews that they can laugh at them.

You will not be cool forever.  There are younger kids around hot on your heels.

Man I really anger you with these posts  :-[  You're right about your posts and now I know how you feel.  Although I know 1990 was a lot different than 1983, but like the year 2000 I consider a decade's last period, generally, of course its different with every decade, to span from year 7 to the next decade's year 1.

So do you 80s kids get mad when Paula Abdul, MC Hammer, Full House, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids get lumped in with Duran Duran, "Dallas", and Cyndi Lauper?  Man I sure feel you pain now and I know the difference too.
