Subject: Untimly Deaths of the 90's

Written By: Sweetheart4JTE on 03/20/05 at 5:28 pm

So I was curious about something. Is there anybody you can think of that met an untimly death in the 90's? I think that Steve Clark had an untimly death. He was way too young to die....when he died, things changed. :\'(  :-\\ :\'(

I would say Richey James Edwards (went Missing - Feb 1st 1995) but his body hasn't been found so no one knows if he's dead or not.

He isn't declared officially dead as his parents refuse to give up hope.

For me the most unfortunate death was that of Jeff Buckley...who mysteriously drowned in the Mississippi in 1996 (or 97'). He always reminds me of the tragic tortured genius typlified by such musicians as Janis Joplin, Nick Drake, Elliot Smith and to an extent Cobain.

It was Tuesday morning, July 18, 1989. The 21 year old Schaeffer lived in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles, in a Tudor style building at 120 N. Sweetzer. I don't think he is well known outside the state of Indiana, but John Kascella was the accordian player in some of John Mellencamp's songs such as "Paper In Fire" and "Cherry Bomb". He was tragically killed in a car accident sometime in the late 90s. And Mellencamp's band hasn't been the same since.  :\'(

You probably don't know Mia Zapata either. She was the lead singer of the LA band "The Gits" who was raped and murdered. There are no suspects and the crime goes unsolved. I heard some of her music, and I believe she would have had better success than that hag Courtney Love. (Sorry). She will be missed and I hope there is an arrest soon.
Also Sam Kinison, Kerry VonErick, Owen Hart (The Blue Blazer), and Derrick Thomas. :\'( :\'( :\'( :\'(

Layne Staley did not die in the 90's his body was found on April 19, 2002, and he died 8 years after Kurt Cobain died. Even as an die hard AIC fan have to say that his career was dead basically after 96 ( did maybe 4 songs after that )

I've always considered The Gits a Seattle band.  ;)  The updates on Mia's murder case must have been mostly on a local level. It was all over the news for quite a while here. They caught the guy in late 2002. He has been sentenced to 37 years. There's a link to a 2-part story below:

Yes...it was in 1996. He had become the Family Feud emcee when the show went back on the air in 1988...his stint lasted five years. According to what I had heard on the E! True Hollywood Story a few years ago, he was going bankrupt...he eventually killed himself. :(

the one's i feel bad for the most are the familiies left behind.......but I still feel bad for the individual person because it must be something awful to be in a place like that where suicide is their only option out.

Robert Kennedy Jr.

Sonny Bono

Eazy E

Gianni Versace (Reminds me of an episode of Father Ted where they're preparing for the Over 75 priest football (soccer) competition.

"Ted: The other team has an Italian fellow.
Dougal: The Italians sure do know about football, Ted. And the world of fashion. Say, Ted, do ya remember that Italian fellow who was so good at fashion, they had to shoot him...?")  ;D

I love that bit.
