Call me unscientific if you will, but though I can be a real jerk about some things...I was firmly in the 12 midnight 1999-2000 camp. All them numbers just don't roll over every day, you know. Thoughts?

Technically, Jan 1, 2001. Historically: August 1990. Culturally: September 2000

Technologically I'd say the 21st century started in 1997 with the Net.

Whether it ended in 1999 or 2000 doesn't matter. It was cool to flip from 1999 to 2000. Of course, I had one too many and passed out before midnight. Truly sucked.
