Subject: LEN

What do you think about LEN? I think they are kind of dumb.... for taking a two second sound clip from Andrea True Connection's More More More. Why ruin a good disco hit?

any takes on this?

Most bands from the late 90's until now rip off old songs. I guess its just a sign of the times.

It kinda had more of a old-school bubblegum pop beat to it.

Steal My Sunshine was one of the biggest Canadian Hits of 1999.  It reached #1 in Canada and spent 67 weeks on the chart.  They had a second single "Feeling Alright" which was popular in Canada and the UK, but it did no damage in America

They didn;t rip-off Andrea True they just sampeled the beat to Andrea True song.  I have no problem with sampling just as long as its not like 1997-1998 when so many rap songs were sampling 80's music on a constant basis.

Anyway about Len "Steel My Sunshine" has an 80's feel to it lyrically where it has that fun element to it similar to "Walking On Sunshine" by "Katrina and The Waves" or "Walk Like A Eygiptian" by the "Bangles".

I have that CD and Vinyl picture disc LP.  I like "Steal My Sunshine".  There's some other good electro-type tracks on the album. :)

That's actually one of the few cd's I still have from the 90's that I listened to all the way through back then and still do now.

I kinda like it too...everytime I hear it I am reminded of my second year in college (Fall '99)...which was around the time it came out. I didn't know until just a few years ago that the rhythm track was a sample from Andrea True Connection's "More More More."

To quote myself here, they actually had several other hits.  Unfortunately I don't have peak chart positions past the year 2000
