Subject: Favorite Boy/Girl Bands

Written By: Kyle on 05/29/05 at 10:48 am

This should of been a 2000's thread, but I have a feeling that the Boy/Girl Band fad was a '90s fad.  After 2001, most boy bands are considered being ancient history, and they were only a few girl bands left such as No Secrets and Destiny's child, which didn't last too long.

I pick out of the three is the ever so cheesy *NSYNC and No Secrets, but are pretty good too.  ;)

I've always liked Destiny's Child, Backstreet Boys are alright, they had a few good songs, Boyz II Men were very good and really are in a different class than some of these other groups.

Sugababes are my favourite, followed by All Saints.  They both got some catchy songs

As for boy bands, I liked Five.  They had several awesome songs including a wicked cover of 'We Will Rock You' that featured Brian May on guitar

Of the ones on this list, I would say Boyz II Men is my favorite, but I do like at least one song by almost all of them.

"Total" and "SWV" for the girl bands. 112, Color Me Badd, and Blackstreet for the boy bands.

"SWV" were a good girl R&B group with hits like "Weak", "Right Here(Human Nature)", "Always On My Mind", and "Rain".

"Blackstreet" was talented too with a producer like Teddy Riley in the group and they had hits "Joy", "Don;t Leave Me", "No Diggity", and "Girlfriend, Boyfriend" featuring Janet Jackson. "Blackstreet" also had another hit with Janet Jackson in mid 1998 with "I Get So Lonely".

*gasp!*

I love Five! They were so awesome! It's a real pity their comeback failed in the end. Still it wouldn'y have been the same without Shaun. Even though I hated hi, anyway  :P

Five: I remember "When The Lights Go Out" from 1998. "Its The Things You Do" didn;t do good chart wise in America but it was a good song. I have their first CD somewhere(their self titled one.)

Ah! "Havalina" and "Ana" are some of the prettiest songs they've ever done, those Pixies.
