Subject: Tell me your "secret songs" please...

Written By: SergioQ on 08/14/05 at 9:22 pm

Ok, we all have them.  Songs that we love, but would never ever ever want our friends to know that we like them.  Think that scene from Tommy Boy and you know what I mean.

Anyway, I need everyone's help here, and this is the perfect place.

For fun, I decided to take a survey of everyone's favorite "closet" songs.

So please take the survey.  It's super quick, spam free!

And just as important, I want 100,000 entries.  I want the results to really reflect something.  So am begging you, please, pass the link along and help me on this personal quest.

Here is the link for the suvey:  http://www.fourgauchos.com/cgi-bin/survey_3.pl

Thank you all so much!

Sergio

Sorry, but I'm not going to fill out the form, because you have to do that "Verification Code" thingy and I NEVER Trust those things. Last time I filled out one of those, my computer got flooded with Viruses and Porn Spyware all over my Desktop, not to mention it also disabled my Pop-up Blocker so I had to do a "System Recovery"

Anyway, I'll list my Top 3 here in this Topic, it's not like you people know who I am anyway, so I'm not that embarrassed

1: "Back for Good" by Take That

2: "Say You'll Be There" by Spice Girls

3: "Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning)" by Vertical Horizon

Well thanks for giving me the list, but I just have to say, that whatever happened to your computer that time was NOT because of the verification thingy.  I don't blame you for being mistrusting, because even I, a big-shot computer guy (here's the last product I made http://www.warptv.com/articles.html) once in a while come across a webpage that dumps some sort of crap on my machine, and totally without me realizing that I stepped into one of those areas!  :\'(

Just so you know for the future, the captcha, as it's called, does not run on your computer.  It's nothing more for the server (i.e. mine where I am taking this poll) to have a way to tell that you are a real human being filling out this form, rather than some automated program, designed to uselessly flood the server.

What's wrong with those three? The Spice one is one of my many favorites from the '90s. For me, if they're songs I like then I don't care what others think about them. What do they know?

How so?? If your IE security (and email) settings are set the way they should be and you don't download and then run stuff from sites you aren't familiar with then you shouldn't have a problem. If viruses were easy to get on everyone's PC then there wouldn't be an internet.

Do you even Understand the Topic? He said for us to name the Top 3 Songs that we would never tell our Friends that we actually like. Me being a MALE, those 3 fit that description just perfectly

What exactly would you consider as Songs you wouldent tell your Friends that you really like??

Yes, I know you like those songs. Good. But I was curious as to what was wrong with them that you wouldn't tell your friends that you did. That be it.

As for me, there aren't any songs I like that I would tell someone I know I didn't like 'em.

How so?  Unsure.  Maybe I clicked to fast, etc. etc.  Have come across one that knocked out my Norton, and then proceeded to mess up my machine so badly i almost jumped out the window (took hours to clean).

All I know is this, I am a programmer, have been using PC's since 85, I know what I am doing.  And that one instance really snuck up on me!!!!

Maybe cause I grew up at the right time with a strong leaning towards real rock!  I can only tell you this, if I liked a Spice Girl's song, which I don't, no one would ever know ;-)

Well if you wouldent have any Problem telling your Friends that you like any of the Songs listed above (Especially the Spice Girls), than you have some Big Balls, my friend

Either that or you're Gay (Not that there's anything wrong with that)

;D

(No problem with the first two. The third I'm not too crazy about. As for the Spice song, shoot, I'd tell the world, just because I really don't think most people could name a better song from the '90s, or even name more than one SG song for that matter)
