Wow Whitney, Janet and Mariah make up half the year!

As the 90's progress, the quality of no 1's suffer.

I just chose 1 ... the excellent Can't Stop Falling in Love which was UB40's 36th hit at that time.  Currently they have 52 hits in their career  :o

I'm pretty sure that "Can't Help Falling In Love" was indeed their Biggest Hit.  It was #1 on the Top 40 Charts for 5 Straight Weeks back in July and August of 1993

Shame it's a cover version - kinda lessens the "no1" status in my humble opinion.

I'm really surprised that no one has voted for "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meat Loaf, considering it's arguably the most popular song on the list  ;)

It became annoying after a while. So maybe that's why the 0 votes.

Up untill now, I was actually hoping that nobody would vote for a "Meatloaf" song because Meatloaf is exactly what just made me vomit no less than 10 minutes ago  >:(

But i'm ok now  :)

I chose Ordinary World, because in 1993, that was my fav. I still think it's great. I chose Informer as well.

I didn't listen to a great deal of music in 1993; mostly sports talk. I do know most of these songs now though. I have not decided which songs will be my "final answer" (that is, when I place my vote), but I do think "Ordinary World" will be among them.

"Ordinary World" seems to be the favorite here

I was thinking about doing a little tournament with the winners of each poll facing each other to decide the Best Overall #1 Song from the 90's  :)

That's crazy that a Duran Duran song is the favorite from 1993.

One thing I liked about the 90s version of Duran Duran was that they did not seem as cheesy and stupid as their 80s version.  They just came across as more mature.

LOL !

I think that Meatloaf song is a contradiction.
5 minutes of pure crap.

"I would do anything for love but i wont do that" well Meatloaf that means that you wont do ANYTHING FOR LOVE ya dick !

maybe i missed what he was saying, but that song always really irritated me, especially when the first time i heard the song and saw the video, that song was no. 1  :o

I think I figured out what he meant when he said "But I won't do that"

Right after the female does her verse, she says "and I know you'll be sleeping around...", and then Meatloaf says "But I won't do that" to end the song.  So i'm thinking that's what he was talking about the whole time and we didn't figure it out untill the end.  He's basically saying he won't ever sleep around
