first of all, i'm not crazy LOL
don't u think , that a great % of the 90's movies have a lot of sunsets???
when i try to remember the 90's one of the things that comes to my mind quickly are sunsets....
and, when u start playing "GTA San Andreas" the city has a beautiful sunset.....

I don't think theres much difference between a '90s sunset and an '00s sunset (aside from the date)

But the '90s seemed to have a sunset fetish, like the '80s had an old lady fetish.

probably the color of the movie's image made them "typical"
I love the 90's color of movies, it reminds me the decade

I don't know about sunsets but I noticed it seemed like alot of 90s sitcoms were obsessed with having food-fights, like Step By Step, and even Power Rangers.
