Subject: Late 90s /00 American vs British indie scene

Written By: Trimac20 on 03/19/06 at 10:31 pm

Bands/artists/musicians like Third Eye Blind, Jane's Addiction, Weezer, Mercury Rev, Elliott Smith, Ween, Placebo (American)

vs Radiohead, Stairsailor, Supergrass, Coldplay, Gomez, Richard Ashcroft, P.J. Harvey

I think it's pretty equal, though the American scene seemed to be more heavily influenced by most grunge, but my vote goes to the English scene solely because of RADIOHEAD, though Elliott Smith is also one of my favourites.

The American Indie scene sucks.  Britain knows how to do it with groups like Starsailor, Ocean Colour Scene, Supergrass ... they are all fantastic 8)
