Subject: 1994

Written By: Roadgeek on 03/28/06 at 12:52 pm

Let's discuss my favorite year of the 90's, 1994. To me, that's my favorite year of the 90's. It's the most nostalgic for me because I remember it pretty clearly.

Ah, 1994 ...

O.J. gets caught red-handed
I break my foot
Kurt commits suicide
beginning of Britpop
last old school rap year

Good year, can only barely remember it though.

1994 was an awesome year. My favorite year in the 90's too. I was in 2nd grade which was cool. Nickelodeon was still pretty cool. And the mid-90's were just starting. Great year.

Occasionaly, I'll stick in my 8 hour Rugrats Marathon video tape I recorded on my fifth birthday on 11/27/1994. What makes it cool is that it's packed with old commercials from 1994. That's what got me interested in the 90's and 1994. Carolina Circle Mall also got me interested in the 90's.

Yeah, I have a tape I recorded of the fox kids club in March 1994 and I watch it all the time. Makes me so nostalgic :\'(

To me, 1994 really defines the 90's because it had a little bit of everything in it. Some early 90's rock/grunge, neon, etc and mid 90's styles. It was basically the perfect year. I'm watching that tape right now by the way. :)

1994 was in alot of ways THE most '90s year, as Roadgeek said, because it had everything '90s, both mid-'90s stuff (R&B, happier alt rock, NIN) and early '90s stuff in TV, grunge, fashions, etc.

Personally I think 1994 is the absolute peak of the 90's. Even though a case could be made for 1993.

Yeah I'd say 1993 or 1994 is the peak.  1999 is the peak of late '90s culture.

1994 was the peak, most definitely!

I graduated from high school and started college in the Fall. Good times.

I remember Ace of Base was big that year. They were to 1994 as ABBA was to 1978.

I remember '94 mainly for the movies. Disney movies such as the Lion King...others like Jurassic Park (though it was a '93 movie). I was also really into basketball and basketball cards.

It's special for me, too. First real girlfriend that year, lol. Great classic movies. Great year for wrestling. Solid year for music.  it was a very interesting year in sports. Michael Jordan entering major league baseball. George Forman winning the world title. The 49ers finally getting over the Cowboy hump. Dan Marino's return. The NBA and NHL Finals taking place in the same arena.  Got Per-Per-View for the first time that year. Met up with my best friend ever, who moved away 5 or 6 years before.

It's nice to know that there are others who feel the same way I do about 1994. That year released the official song for roadgeeks everywhere. It was The Sign by Ace of Base.

I have great memories of '94 as well.  It was a good year for me on a personal level, plus the year had great music and interesting movies.

I remember songs "Zombie" by The Cranberries & "You mean the world to me" by Toni Braxton. I was 14 years old that year until November I turned 15

I started 7th grade that summer.  I turned 12 that May. It wasn't the best summer for me in many ways, especially because I was starting school at a new school with a whole new set of kids and being taught in a whole new way (going in periods and so on), but I adapted to it and actually have some fond memories of those times.

We also moved that year, so it was exciting to see our house be built and be a part of it in some other ways. I would say it was my "coming of age" year where I really began to think more like an adult rather than just a little kid. Looking back now I can see a huge difference of how I acted between the years 1993 and 1994. A big difference!

I remember the summer right before moving and swimming in our pool and talking to my brother about how it was probably going to be the last time we would ever swim in it. I believe that night ending up being last time. Moving from that home was like saying good -bye to our childhood as well. I really miss that home and even drive by it from time to time.

I was 12/13 that year, turning 13 in July. This was a year where I became seriously overweight since soda and fast food was widely available in school and played my Super Nintendo hours and hours, but I still enjoy looking back at this year at the same time.  We went to Mexico City in this year as well and it was nice to see my cousins there. I also very much remember the O.J. Simpson trial. I think this was the year Green Day released Dookie but didn't care for it at the time even though everyone at school loved it. There was also a lot of rap being played on the radio, especially Snoop Dogg.

1994 was one of my favourite years of the 90s. I remember a lot of good things about that year, and I traveled out of the country that summer. One of the funnest years I remember.

1994 was also the year I started to gain a taste for Peter Paul & Mary. That was around late '94. My favorite was Puff (The Magic Dragon). He lived by the sea by the way. ;D

I Loved '94

I still remember on January 6th, 1994 I had Broken my Leg at Daycare (Which was eerie because later on that exact same day was when Tanya Harding had her Boyfriend whack Nancy Kerrigan in the Leg which took her out of the Figure Skating Championships or whatever)

I also remember meeting this kid named Shane, who was obssesed with the song "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden and "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails, which were both Big Rock Hits in the Fall of 1994

I also remember going to a friends Birthday Party on November 19th, 1994.  I remember it so well because it was the only Birthday "Party" I ever attended (I always thought Birthday "Party's" were cheesy) and then afterwards went to Wendy's to eat Lunch and then went to the Theater to see "Pulp Fiction"

1994 is so full of great memories for me, even though I was only 8

I remember watching the video to "Black Hole Sun" with my brother right before I went to my first day of 7th Grade. We were on a new system called the Track system, so school started in mid-July for me. I was so depressed about that. That was also the summer that another "girly" thing happened to me, which depressed me even more,  ;D (I know TMI, TMI)
