Who else here is a fan? I think this is arguably the best CD of the '90s, in terms of composition and the way the songs relate to each other.

I'm a Liz Phair fan, but I think this album is highly overrated. I also think it pidgeonholed her into a specific category, and her career has suffered from that. She should be much more successful than she is. I actually think Whip Smart is her best album.

Whenever somebody has an amazing debut, the rest of their career never quite lives up to it. Tori Amos and Alanis Morisette are other artists to whom this applies.
