1999 and 2000 are some of the best years of my life. What do you remember about those 2 years?

Yea I liked 1999 and 2000 as well. Well I was in 7th and 8th grade. I liked Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, Greed, and some other game shows of the time. I was really into the whole y2k thing, and had a number of those futuristic 01-01-00 shirts and millennium ones. I traded in my playstation for a dreamcast the day it came out in 1999. I got my first digital camera in 99. Music I liked mostly pop, that Mambo no.5 song used to always be in my head, Macy Gray's "I Try" was also one of my favorites. I used to like Livin La Vida Loca and I Want It That Way back then too, lol. For me it was a very cool timeperiod and I enjoyed it a lot, I miss those days actually.

The Gap between September 1999 - February 2000 was the Worst Time of my Life, by a mile.  Other than that, I enjoyed the rest of 2000 and I enjoyed the Summer of 1999

They had a zeitgeist of their own.  Like they weren't really the '90s or the '00s.

They're like pre-'00s almost.

Yeah, 99-00 was the '90s, but there was alot of '00s stuff set into that '90s framework and way of being (the technology, The Matrix, American Pie, Eminem, The White Stripes, Jennifer Lopez), etc. Though people still acted '90s and the general atmosphere was more '90s, with the lack of DVDs and such, and the "optimism."

Those years were two of the best years of my life as well. It all went downhill from there.

The thing I remember is that when it was 2000, I was thinking to myself that this is a great start to a new millenium. I was thinking the rest of the years will be as good as 2000.

It was my freshman year in college, which was great because of the flexibility in choosing my own schedule vs. the same 7 hour school day 5 days a week. This was also the first I got interested in mainstream music.
