I believe I only remember one major hit by this band ("The Freshman") in 1996, and it was a very good song, but I don't recall them doing much else.

"The Freshman" was on the radio constantly during our family roadtrip to British Columbia, and it always brings back memories of that vacation for me. It's definitely one of my favourite radio hits from that year (1996 or '97, I think).

They had a few minor and modest hits, one of which was called "Photograph"
I always used to get The Verve Pipe confused with The Verve

"The Freshman" was constantly played on the radio from around March-May 1997. I have that song on my computer. They had a few minor hits but nothing as big as "The Freshman". I think the band disbanded shortly after.

Same here. They both came out with modest hits around the same time... ;D
