Subject: Children's books - Who was the illustrator?

They were small, thin, children's books, with 'fantasy' related stories. The main (or first) book, featured
a female pink Sea Serpent, with large blue eyes and small fins down her back. She had two front legs, and I believe a long think tail which curled. The other books featured Gnomes, fairies, and other odd
ball creatures (as I remember). One of the books I used own by this author was titled 'Lisa and the Grump'...(again, I think it was by the same person.) Does anyone remember these books, or know of the name of the author? The pink sea creature sticks out the most in my head, though.
