My favourite of the 90s was Travis. I am still a big fan :)

Texas is my favourite. I have all of their albums, and a few of their singles :)

I'd probably have to go with Alice In Chains.
I think Layne Staley was probably the best rock vocalist of the last 25 years.

A toss up between Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, or Rage Against the Machine

Best 90's rock bands. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, S.T.P., Red Hot Chili Peppers and Better Than Ezra
A great 90's band you may have never heard before is Vibrolush. They could've gone somewhere, but I think they missed the boat. They had an album on a smaller label. Interscope picked it up in 1997, but it looked like music was turning away from the likes of Nada Surf, Superdrag, etc (MTV played this type of stuff heavily around mid to late 1996). Unlike those bands though, these guys had a consistent sound. A strong effort from a relatively unknown band.
Check Amazon sometime for Vibrolush and get a copy. Shouldn't cost more than a few bucks. Worth the money. But DON'T buy their "Touch and Go" CD. They sound like they were trying to update with the times, but fail miserably.

I don't usually like many new bands and stick to the classic & hard rock stuff but I liked Nirvana very much.
