Subject: Does Sheryl Crow have an alt rock influence?

Written By: Marty McFly on 05/10/07 at 6:07 am

On the surface, I always thought she was a commercialized version of '90s dance-pop and maybe even a teeny bit folkesque. Like a soundtrack to a coffee shop setting. I was thinking about how, on a few of her more guitar-oriented songs like "My Favorite Mistake" and "If It Makes You Happy", she sorta comes across like a tame version of a grunge chick. Not hardcore or anything, but maybe a little in the boat with someone Alanis Morissette (albeit less angry).

I guess she is sort of like Alanis, never thought of it before now.  She's like...light rock and some folk I think.

she's definitely folky rock..I was really into her awhile back...I still like her...but I just don't listen to her music as much.
