Subject: Need help IDing a song

Written By: d_brofi on 06/09/07 at 3:11 am

Okay, let's see if anyone can help me . . .

I'm trying to find the artist and/or title of a song I used to hear on the radio sometime between 1991-1994. I don't know any of the words, but the bass and refrain melody sounded like this (go to the page and click the sound samples to hear):

I don't know if it was done by a group or solo artist, but the vocals were sung by a man, sounded kind of like a Michael McDonald or Richard Marx type from what I can recall. I'd say the genre was soft rock or country--- I listened to a lot of country stations back then but I can't remember if that's where I would hear this song or not.

I've had that melody intermittently stuck in my head for YEARS; I must figure out what it is! If anyone thinks they have any info on it, Please let me know, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks--
Bunny M.

Those MIDI files kinda stink. It could be this:

Richard Marx "Right Here Waiting" is my best guess.

That song came out in 1989, but I remember hearing it for years after, which fits you '91-'94 timeline.

Yeah, I know they're not the greatest samples, but it's the best I could do on the fly.

It's not that song though, and I'm pretty sure it's not a "common" song like that one is. The one I'm looking for was more uptempo and had more instruments.

Thanks for your help (and quick reply) though!
