Subject: Are Third Eye Blind influenced by The Cars?

"Never Let You Go" reminds me so much of The Cars' "Just What I Needed". They had that poppy rock sound, almost like Weezer.

Maybe, aren't they older than Weezer?

Weezer released their first album in 1994 and had 3 huge rock hits from that album (Undone: The Sweater Song, Buddy Holly and Say It Ain't So)

Third Eye Blind didn't hit the scene until 1997 with their first album, which of course was also huge.

Third Eye Blind seems more "serious" with their songs and messages in them than Weezer ever did with theirs.

Yeah, and to reiterate JohnDoe, Weezer was around 3 years before Third Eye Blind ever hit the mainstream. Remember the "Buddy Holly" song from 1994? It was a big hit!

I'm not sure, maybe Weezer influenced them to a degree, but I don't see a huge influence from either. I've never really made that correlation before.
