Subject: The Torkelsons/Almost Home

Do you guys remember this early 90's TV show? It only ran for like one season.

It featured a single mother of five, Mrs. Millicent Torkelson... a do-it-yourselfer with a flair for finding ingenious ways to make ends meet. Her oldest daughter Dorothy Jane is a sensitive dreamer who finds solace by talking to the "man in the moon". The rest of the clan includes Steven Floyd, Chuckie Lee, Mary Sue and Ruth Ann, all of whom easily get themselves in and out of trouble.

I remember watching a few episodes of it...but it was annoying to me, with their country/hick accents and their country bumpkin names.

Then there was a spin off show called, Almost Home. It didn't last too long either. A very young Brittany Murphy starred in this show.

I remember watching an episode or two of the Torkelsons. It really wasn't my cup of tea, though. It didn't surprise me that this show didn't last long.

I remember The Torkelsons, but it's been so long, I don't remember what it was about.

Can't say as I recall Almost Home though :-\\

I used to love both of them.  I usually seemed to like the shows that got cancelled pretty quickly.  Maybe new shows should pay me to start liking their competition so the new show would stay on the air (without any competition).  ;D
