Subject: #2 Hits of the 90's (Entire List)

Written By: CSM1986 on 03/26/10 at 5:43 pm

More specifically, these are the songs that peaked at #2 on America's "Billboard Hot 100" Chart.

Since we all know the #1 Hits, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the songs that were just barely held off the #1 spot and instead could only peak at #2.

Also, I thought we could have some fun with this and debate which of the #2 Hits should have been a #1 Hit

-----------------------------------------------------------

The first one that stands out to me is "I Love You Always Forever" by Donna Lewis, which was such a huge hit on the Radio, you couldn't escape it.  So what kept it from the #1 spot?....you guessed it, "Macarena" by Los Del Rio

Other songs that had similar situations are "My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get It)" by En Vogue which was blocked from the #1 spot by "Jump" by Kris Kross (Which was at #1 mainly because of it's Sales and not necessarily because of it's Radio Airplay).  "My Lovin" dominated the Radio Waves in America during the Summer of 1992, but unfortunately it didn't get to #1 because "Jump" was selling like crazy (You could make the same argument for "Macarena")

Also, "You Make Me Wanna" by Usher and "How Do I Live?" by LeAnn Rimes were held off the #1 Spot by "Candle In The Wind" by Elton John (Which was #1 solely because of Princess Diana's death)
