Subject: preschool show from the mid 1990's

I am looking for the name of a preschool show from the 1990's. It had a man that would draw for the kids. while he was drawing, the drawing would start spinning and then the screen would be animated.
He used to call the kids doodlebug- thats about all i can remember.
It could of been on pbs or nick?
